Intracranial Pressure

The CT-Scan (CT-Scan06) taken 80 days after surgery shows signs of enlarging ventricles. 90 days after surgery, three general Tonic-Cronicmajor seizures (with loss of consciousness) in 1.5 hours worsened the situation. He stayed at bed with sudden spasms in his feet muscles and during the next two weeks he had a painful period with litte activity. During this period, the “Phenytoin” serum was measured at 8.3 (normal 10-20), so the “Phenytoin” dose were increased to 300 mg/day, and 100 mg/day “Lamictal” tablets again were added to his treatment plan and since the seizures continued, 325 mg/day “Acetazolamide” was added which almost controlled the seizures. However, the urination difficulties continued.

The CT-Scan (CT-Scan07) take 102 day after surgery demonstrated marked hydrocephalous and resulted in installation of a “Fuji” medium pressure shunt four days later.
