Unfortunately I'm unable to open any of the CT files. I get an error Message when I try. However, it sounds like most of his problems are medical rather than surgical. I don't have anything further to suggest, except if the ascitis is hindering the shunt by not absorbing the fluid, then either externalizing the shunt or surgically placing it into the jugular vein can be entertained. Judging from the notes of resolving ascitis, and normal pressure in the ventricles it doesn’t sound like this is necessary. I wish I had more to offer, and I wish him and his family well. As always, the doctors caring directly for him have the most information, and are best equipped to make decisions for him. Bill Mastrodimos |
